The research and development of Third Man's latest's project "Giraffe" has received funding from Arts Council England as well as support from The Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter,
The project is inspired by the true events of 22nd May 2008 when Plymouth local Nicky Reilly, a 22 year old white Muslim convert, who had Aspergers Syndrome, attempted to detonate a home-made explosive device at Giraffe Restaurant in Exeter. Thankfully there were no casualties.
Third Man aim to take this story to create a unique piece of theatre using words and live music that will raise significant cultural and societal questions present today in the UK and beyond and at the same time explore the human element of the incident.
